Individual therapy for teens in high school, teens who are getting ready to launch for college and young adults who are already in college.
For the late teen/young adult, preparing to leave for college can be an emotionally tumultuous time. It’s usually the first major transition they face and it’s often filled with a range of feelings; from fear about what to expect, to panic about decision making, to excitement about the prospect of independence.
Navigating novel experiences and strong emotions, while simultaneously moving through a life transition can wreak havoc on the the young adult’s mind.
We will work through the transition, learn to navigate new relationships, develop new coping methods for dealing with curve balls and other life events, and grow psychologically and emotionally into oneself are just a few ways psychotherapy can help.
Many individuals contact me during the last year or two of high school, while some wait until college. Either way, we’ll develop a plan to work on your needs that best suit you.
Either the parent or the young adult may contact me to set up an initial consultation. At that time, we will discuss your needs and develop a plan for moving forward.
